Bright Minds Bright Future is an educational microgrant program designed to reduce financial barriers that can interrupt a student's progress toward high school completion, college, vocational education, or accredited career training.

The program focuses on modest but important expenses that traditional financial aid may not fully cover.

Up to $500

Each selected recipient may receive an award of up to $500 for an approved educational expense.

Up to four awards

The program may provide up to four awards per annual cycle, subject to available funds and board approval.

Purpose-controlled payments

Direct vendor or school payment is preferred; documented reimbursement or another controlled payment may be used when practical.

Testing, certification, or licensing fees

Awards are not unrestricted cash and may not be used for entertainment, recreational purchases, gambling, weapons, political activity, or expenses already fully reimbursed elsewhere.

Students with a clear goal and a specific need.

Education status

Applicants must be enrolled, accepted, or actively participating in an eligible school, vocational, technical, certificate, apprenticeship-preparation, or accredited career-training program.

Documented need

Applicants describe the education-related expense, provide reasonable proof of participation, and explain the anticipated impact.

Flexible participation

Full-time enrollment is not generally required, helping the program serve working learners, part-time students, caregivers, and students with disabilities.
