Program purpose

Turning events into community learning.

Through CEED, BOLT Gaming Foundation creates, funds, and operates its own charitable esports tournaments. The Foundation controls event planning, budgets, vendors, staffing, safety, participant access, and program records.

Every CEED event must advance education, teamwork, leadership, technology skills, responsible gaming, community participation, or access to amateur competition.

How it works

Foundation-led from planning through impact.

Foundation-operated tournaments

BOLT plans, presents, funds, and supervises each event while retaining control of the program budget and records.

Direct event expenses

Program funds pay approved Foundation event costs such as venues, technology, production, staffing, accessibility, outreach, and participant support.

Accessible formats

Events may be online, in person, or hybrid and can include workshops in broadcasting, commentary, digital media, or event production.

CEED does not make organizer support awards, regrant tournament funds, or transfer program money to outside organizations to operate their own events.

Priority may be given to participants facing financial, geographic, disability-related, or technology-access barriers.

Foundation resources used for public benefit.

Foundation budget

The Board approves CEED funding, and BOLT Gaming Foundation pays or reimburses its own documented event expenses within the approved budget.

Who may participate

Community members may register as players, learners, volunteers, mentors, commentators, broadcasters, or event-support participants when opportunities are announced.

What BOLT reviews

Public benefit, feasibility, safety, accessibility, responsible gaming, educational outcomes, and a reasonable Foundation event budget.

CEED does not fund outside organizers, gambling, private-profit activity, discriminatory programming, undocumented payments, or improper benefit to insiders.
